"Shiberasu(R)" is a super fiber made of liquid crystal polyester (LCP) that exhibits special strength comparable to that of metal wires and chains. While possessing high strength, it also features the unique "lightness" characteristic of liquid crystal polymer fibers. Even when used underwater, it does not absorb moisture, nor does it change dimensions or become heavier. When compared in terms of strength per weight, it reaches approximately 35 times the strength of metal materials such as wires and chains.
